How Could I Forget??

I just realized my beaded owl is feeling left out since he was not included in my “Give A Hoot” post.

He is beautifully crafted and looks as though he could hoot out an owl call at any given moment.

He adds a nice touch to all my other bird related home decor, standing tall and watching over things from the bookshelf in the living room. I’m sure if he could talk, he would have some interesting stories to tell.

He was a gift given to me by a family member, for one of my many birthdays, I do believe. I can’t remember and it doesn’t really matter when it was.

What does matter is how it’s a perfect gift for me because of my passion for birds. It’s so wonderful to receive a very thoughtful gift knowing the person giving it truly knows your likes and dislikes and goes to great lengths to find that special gift that means so much.

I hope your day is filled with thoughtfulness towards others and to our beautiful birds as well, both real and crafted.

Happy Birdwatching, my friends.

Thru The Eyes Of A Child

This is my all time favorite birdhouse photo of all the ones in my collection.

This masterpiece was built with tiny hands and an artful mind by my granddaughter many years ago.

I gave her a small hammer, a few nails, glue, paint, and my craft drawer items. With just a little help nailing and gluing, she created the “Pink Birdhouse “ for me.

The detail is wonderfully crafted and it is definitely one of a kind.

A beautiful gift made one special day for this birdhouse loving grandmother.

Perfect Timing

After being inside all morning, I decided to sit outside for awhile and watch the birds. When I stepped out the back door, what a delight it was to see this little guy sunning himself on the patio table.

He then jumped to the rose bush when he became camera shy. Can you find him among the leaves? His green color sure blends well with the bush.

As I turned to sit in the chair, there was another little friend soaking up the warmth from the bricks.

He was quite a climber and quickly was out of sight.

Two little lizard friends feeling right at home on my patio. It’s always nice to see your backyard beaming with what nature has to offer. All you have to do is be still and look around. The beauty of nature never disappoints.
